Drayton Road

Street guide, Cosham

A long residential road running east from Cosham towards Drayton and Farlington. Drayton Road is lined with substantial interwar semi-detached houses, many with generous front and rear gardens. The street is tree-lined in places, giving it a pleasant, leafy character. It is one of the more desirable residential roads in the Cosham area, with properties that are larger and more spacious than the Victorian terraces closer to the centre. The road carries a reasonable amount of traffic but is generally quiet outside rush hours. King George V Playing Fields can be accessed from side streets off Drayton Road, and the area is well served by bus routes running along the parallel Havant Road.
