Northern Road

One of the main routes through Cosham, running north from the High Street towards Portsdown Hill. Northern Road has a mix of residential properties, small shops and takeaways along its length. The southern section near the centre is more commercial, with parades of shops and service businesses. Further north, the road becomes residential, with interwar semis and detached houses as the ground starts to rise towards the hill. Northern Parade, a small row of shops, serves the local neighbourhood. The road carries a steady flow of traffic during the day and can be congested at rush hour. Side streets branching off Northern Road lead into quiet residential cul-de-sacs and closes.
