A residential avenue in the northern part of Cosham, named for the views available from the higher ground towards the south. Portsview Avenue has interwar and postwar housing, with semi-detached and detached properties set along a gently curving road. Some houses on the upper side enjoy views across the city towards the harbour and the Solent. The street is quiet and residential, with well-maintained gardens and a family-orientated atmosphere. It connects to Northern Road and the network of streets climbing towards Portsdown Hill. The elevated position and the views make properties here slightly more desirable than comparable houses in the flatter parts of Cosham.
